In support of the Breast Cancer Awareness campaign this month, Head Pastry Chef at La Serre, Zairah Molina has been creating a special collection of pink pastries especially for the Boulangerie.
We have a special edition pastry especially for Breast Cancer Awareness month, which has also scored top marks with the La Serre team. A Parisian’s favourite, the ‘Religieuse’, is a French pastry made of two choux pastry cases covered in a ganache, filled with crème patissiere, topped with pastel pink icing and the worldwide symbol for this important cause: the iconic pink ribbon.
Available to take away, or eat in the rustic Boulangerie, a proportion of sales from the delicious, one-off French biscuits and pastries will be donated to the Breast Cancer Arabia Foundation.
The Breast Cancer Arabia Foundation was set up to help improve treatment and care for all women living and working in the Middle East. It helps women throughout the Middle East regardless of nationality and socioeconomic status, allowing access to life-saving surgery and treatment when they are unable to afford the costs.
The La Serre girls have also started an internal campaign in support of the charity by choosing to wear pink on weekends, so keep an eye out for the pink lipstick on your next visit to La Serre.
The Boulangerie opens daily for breakfast from 6:30am through to lunch and dinner, closing at 10:30pm. Our special pink pastries are limited and are only available during October so hurry on over and tag us in your pictures on Facebook, Twitter or Instagram @Laserredubai.
